Is the keto diet right for me?

Is your goal to lose weight and be healthy too? You need to determine if a keto diet is healthy for you. Honestly, the keto diet follows a vastly different eating habit than most diets. This is how to know the keto diet is right for you.

Does the keto diet produce results accompanied with great health and keep you looking spectacular too? The answer is yes, a ketogenic (keto) diet is designed to boost your body’s ability to burn fat through nutritional ketosis. Ketosis occurs when you accomplish three important components:

            1.   Eat 80% (high) amounts of fat
            2.   Eat 15% (moderate) amounts of protein
            3.   Eat 5% (low) amounts of carbohydrates

The first advantage of nutritional ketosis is reduced hunger. By eating more fat, you stabilize your blood sugar and diminish you food cravings. The second advantage according to NCBI, is that eating moderate protein improves your cholesterol levels. Lastly, the third advantage also by NCBI, is that a low carb keto diet improves glucose levels for people with diabetes.

When our bodies enter into a “state of ketosis”, the liver begins to produce ketones which supercharge your body to super burn fat. The best analogy for me is like when you super unleaded gas into your car, your car burns more efficiently and cleaner.

When the ketone levels in our blood begins to rise and blood acidity increases rapidly. Your liver starts using the ketones to burn your bodies fat as energy. An important note, this can have a serious effect on your liver, kidneys, and urine if your body burns fat too quickly then your body thinks is starving. This is called ketoacidosis when the body produces dangerously high levels of ketones.

Why would anyone in their right mind implement this sort of weight loss diet if the hypothesis has been debunked by certain studies?
